Easy Grilled Chicken Teriyaki

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
Too salty! Not sure if it's because I marinated for too long (7 hours) or the teriyaki sauce I used (Kikkoman). Wouldn't try again.

Ron's Bread Machine White

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
This is really good. I used the 3/4 cup water/ 1/4 cup of milk that another reviewer suggested and was happy with the results. This bread was the easiest to slice.

Corn Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
These were too runny and soft inside. Crispy outside, liquid potato inside. I had twice the potato stated, so I doubled the recipe. I guess you could say the texture put you off of them, and they needed more ingredients inside to hold their shape and add texture and flavour. Really quite flavourless. You could easily add chopped vegetables (frozen) or ham, because these need something inside for crunch and texture. Overall, a new idea and one I might try again with left over potato mash, while adding some meat and vegetables and flavourings.

Apple Pecan Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
This was a nice change from the usual apple crumble. I doubled the cake part but reduced the sugar a bit. Only used one layer of pecans. Served with vanilla ice cream.

Mushroom Port Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
Good sauce. Took about 10mins to thicken up after adding the stock. I finished it with a splash of cream instead of the butter.

Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
The best slow cooker soup I have ever made. Thanks for the recipe. I pretty much followed all the directions but used ready made beef stock with roast onion instead of stock cubes. To up the vege content, I added frozen peas and corn in the last 4 hours of cooking time. The cumin added a unique taste and I amped it up with a dusting of chilli powder. I am going to make this again and again. Hearty, wholesome and healthy too.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

like I even need to review this if 700 something people have made it already you know it's good...I added bacon just because we have a house full of bacon lovers but I've made it without bacon before and it's still just great! This is a keeper.

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
I added some chocolate chips to mine for the kids. I also used 2 bananas I had forgotten about in the freezer! They were frozen with the skins on in a plastic bag and I barely had to mash them at all once I defrosted them and peeled them for the recipe. What a great way to store and use up those sad looking 'nanas.

Savory Herb-Crusted Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
This was so easy to make. I followed the recipe except I seasoned the gravy with salt and pepper and also added some parmesan cheese and crushed garlic to it. I served it with tradition garlic bread and some steamed veg. My hubbie doesnt even like chicken pot pie but he loved this one!

Spicy Oven Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
Love the idea of this but it needs a lot more spice (heat and flavour). I didn't shallow fry before baking. Just put the chicken pieces on a roasting tray and sprayed all sides with olive oil. It turned out lovely, crisp and moist but just not enough flavour.
